2017 Coaches
Head Coach
Jenna Heuser

I began coaching the Gators in 2006. I became involved in competitive swimming at the age of 5 and continued on summer teams, AAU teams and High School swimming throughout my school years. While attending the College of William & Mary, I had my first summer coaching job as the Head Coach of the Northampton Blue Marlins. After college I spent twenty years working in the New York City area. In 2002 our family decided to move back to Virginia to live a more family driven lifestyle. When the Gators formed in 2005 my son was seven and we became involved with the inaugural team. The next summer I volunteered as Head Coach to help the team over the next few years. Since then the team has grown from 35 swimmers in Division III to a strong competitor in Division I with over 150 swimmers. In the winter season I am the Head Coach for the Walsingham Trojans swim team and the Rec Centerís Rec Racer group. Along with coaching I participate in our family businesses. I live in Greensprings West with my husband Barry and my son Jared.
Assistant Coach
Amy Cory

Amy and her family moved to the Williamsburg area two years ago and have enjoyed two wonderful seasons as Gators! Amy has a passion for both swimming and coaching. She started her competitive swimming career at age 7 and continued through college, earning NCAA Division II collegiate All-American honors in both the 100 and 200 Butterfly, placing in the top 10 nationally. She was an assistant coach for the WA state high school AAAA state championship girls team (Rogers High School) in 2004 and head coach for the Rogers High School boys team in 2005 (4th place at state). She coached at the USS level for one year at Ft. Rucker Alabama, until her second child was born. While living in Hawaii, Amy took up open water swimming where she took 1st place in her age group in the North Shore Swim Series, a 4-race open water competition which culminates in a 2.3 mile open water swim along the North Shore of Oahu. Amyís coaching philosophy begins with teaching the fundamentals, and helping swimmers identify their strengths as they are encouraged to set goals and push beyond their limits toward success. Both of her children, Jayden (11) and Bryson (9) will be participating as Gators this summer.

I began swimming for the gators when the team started in 2004, I continued to swim with the team up until my last year of eligibility. I also swam for Jamestown High School all four years I was attending, and I was part of the State Team my last three years. I began to coach the Gators in 2012, it was the greatest experience to finally be able to help out the team that I had been a part of for so long. Over the past 13 years with the Gators I have had so much fun with everyone on the team and hope to promote a fun learning environment for all of the swimmers on the team.

I began my swimming career with the Gators back when i was in 7th grade. I swam all 4 years at Jamestown High School, and started club swimming my freshman year as well. This is my first year coaching for the Gators and I'm already having a blast teaching all the little ones and meeting everyone on the team!

This is my second year as a coach for the Gators, but I've been a swimmer on the team since 2005. I am a rising Junior at Jamestown High School. I swim for Jamestown and competed on the State Team this year. I've been a part of the Gators for a number of years now and it's amazing to see how far we've come. My goal is to help the team and make sure everyone has lots of fun.
